I saw "Nine" today

Mediocre at best movie, but golly golly gosh. I do love a little bit of Penelope Cruz.
But most of all, I love the costumes.

These got me thinking, wowee who was the costume designer.

Colleen Atwood
Ah yes, she also designed for Chicago, Edward Scissorhands, Gattaca, Sweeny Todd, A Series Of Unfortunate Events and soon to be released, Alice in Wonderland.

So, I got home, and I went on Etsy and searched for Flapper lingerie, and all other things Flapper and just fell in love with the vintage sleepwear. So much more beautiful than what is produced these days.

I do realise that Flapper is the wrong era, but really the costumes in the Musical numbers reminded me of the 1920's, but, kind of 60's inspired.

I love the internet

I mean, I have always known I loved it. But never this much.

For months it is now, I have seen girls wearing my dream shoes. Aah, my dream shoes. Quite unfortunately I have always been in the situation where I can not ask the lucky girl wearing them where they are from. Whether it be that I was too shy that day, or I spotted someone wearing them on the street whilst I was on the tram.

I have literally dreamed about these shoes. Today I visited, a lovely lovely little blog called Chronicles of the Fashion Cupboard.

And there they were. Clogs. And better yet, it's an Australian blog. Cheaper shipping.
I think I'm set, and then I realise. Ah, I'm a vegetarian. I don't wear leather. Unluckily for me, it does not say, ANYWHERE, on the site, what they are made from. I still have high hopes however.

I know, I know, I have kept you in suspense for long enough.
They are black, clunky, platform, vintage, clog style sandals. I'm still not quite sure what charmed me about them, but, as you probably figure by now. I am in love.

They are just so, me!

Summer: sunny with a breeze

*sigh*
Today we've been busy trying to come up with a word for drinking similar to noming. And we do realise this will only make sense to a small collective of people. So far we are unsuccessful.

We have once again found ourselves without functioning camera's (ahh yes) so we have only our way with words to convey an image of our current attire.
Leticia - hair = wavy, like de-curled curls but not straight, loose low ponytail. necklace = diva, beads tied in baby pink fabric, wrapped around twice.
top = cotton on sailor stripe t-shirt tucked into
jeans = jeans.
shoes = nude lipstik flats.

Bella - scrap material tied as hair band. made it myself.
yet another ebay dress, and because we're going crazy with the links here it is: eBay .

Now onto something a little bit more useful/educational. Liberty, rant time. Ah,Liberty. How I love you so, for those of you who have not heard, Liberty is a brand of fabric from the UK.
They also have lines of clothing among other things, while their fabric is very, very expensive, we here at "a spoonful of believe" that it is well worth it, very recently I (Leticia) bought around 20cm of Liberty to embellish a scarf I made with, and it was very worth it.
And I also have to pull out the story of ten years ago, at a Garage Sale, my Mum finding a Liberty shirt and scoring it for all of one dollar!

For ages, she was going to cut it up and use the fabric but, then I inherited it, lovely.

Enjoy being awesome,
love, us.
