I've gotta say, Bella: my enjoyment of your post was immese.
But ladies and gents I'm not here to talk about that now am I? I'm here to talk about the announcement. So, only tue first party of this post is going to be here. The second, somewhere new.
Yesterday marked a big decision by Bella and myself. It started like this:

Theatre arts - midday

Tish: hey I've been thinking, for the blog

Bella: yeah?

Tish: I reckon we should move it to tumblr. (explanation why blah blah blah)

Bella: okay awesome!

So I might have paraphrased a little there.
The main point is that a spoonful of is moving to tumblr!
We chose to do this because, even though blogger has been good for us we think that tumble is the next step. It is much easier to maintain a tumblr, the posting is faster, the system of following better not to mention that the variety on rumble is so much more extensive on tumblr due to the fact that there are a great number of fantastic fashion related tumblrs!

The best thing about tumblr I think in relation to our blog is that it is so much easier to follow. So everyone reading this.

It is fantasic. And if you are thinking what on earth would I pst about here is a fantastic thing: you just have to follow people to have a successful blog.
On tumblr there is a feature called the reblog button, which means that if you see something you like come up from one of the blogs that you follow you can easily repose it this way without feeling like you are stealing someone elses work - the reblog button gives a little link to the persons blog who you got the  image, quote, video, whatever from in the first place!

So come on guys, come one come all sign up to tumblr, read our posts, reblog, put questions in our ask box!
You guys are the best, so... Without further ado.

Here is !
Enjoy lassies, x

Autumn - Fashion News.

I knew they'd come in handy. I just used my news sources Vogue Australia and, to fix my writers block.
So. In the fashion world at the moment:

March 9th - Miranda Kerr, only two months after giving birth to her son Flynn, appeared in the autumn/winter show for Balenciaga in Paris.

March 10th - Kate Moss lights up Paris Fashion Week with her bad behaviour. Ignoring a French law banning smoking in buildings, the supermodel smoked a cigarette as she strutted down the catwalk for Louis Vuitton's bondage-themed show. (but she looks kind of great doing it. not that glorifying smoking's OK or anything.)

March 14th - the world's highest paid supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, starred on her first French Vogue cover wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

March 15th - Emma Watson announces she is the new face of French cosmetic giant Lancome, and due "to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation," said a statement from Lancome International president Youcef Nabi.

(by the way - way to post a new photo, we were all over this one a couple of hundred years ago)

Love love love you all,
Bella xxx

P.S. Sorry about Sunday, I probably should have got my head together and written a post earlier, but getting my stuff together isn't really my thing at the moment.

I know, I know. I would first like to congratulate Bella on posting.
And I would like to de-congratulate myself on not posting. I hate to say it, but these past few weeks (weeks) I have neglected my duties and let Bella take the fall, which she has been fantastic at.

No more of this.

I am writing from an internet cafe in Sydney. I'm in Sydney by the way.
So a little update on what I have been doing - photo's will come later, I'm unable to put them up at the moment.

The whole reason I am in Sydney is because on Thursday night I went to see Belle and Sebastian!
It was incredible, for those of you who don't know Belle and Sebastian are a Scottish band who are almost too cute for words. So that was great, and I got to wear my new American Apparel skirt!
The skirt that in our skirts post we raaaved and ranted about how much we wanted it. Photo next time, promise.

Then yesterday we went for a walk through the Pitt St Mall, which I guess is sort of like Bourke St Mall for us Melbournites. I was thinking yeah yeah this is good, pretty similar to Melby (although not as big). By the way, Zara Sydney stiiiiilllll isn't open as well as Melbourne. Then we decided to venture into a little arcade, that is quite like the Royal Arcade. Except dare I say it? This one was a little better. It was three stories. Three levels of cuteness. On the first there was an assortment of lolly chocolate nut places, some of the most gorgeous jewelery stores (antique earrings in the front cabinet - 3,800 dollars).  And then we went to the second level.
Oh the second level.

This was the level with a bright pink carpeted, chandelier filled Alanah Hill store. The level that contained the Corner Shop. A shop filled with clothes so decadent and expensive that I would only ever admire from afar. And by the way the cutest displays ever! And Fleur Wood. The clothes in that store were amazing. But I would have to say that my favourite thing were the changing rooms.
When I walked into the store, I didn't think there were changing rooms. There were clothing racks, and, oh, what? A GIANT BOOKCASE?
No. That was no mere giant bookcase my friends. It was a scene out of a spy movie. That's right, parts of the bookcases swung around and they were the change room doors. Hidden change rooms. When I saw it happen, fairly sure I almost suffered an aneurysm.

So yeah, photos to come.

I think that is all that I have to report on so far, but I'm so thrilled that its Autumn. Sooooo thrilled.
I think Autumn has an edge on Winter for me. Because Autumn is sort of a good mix of warm and cool days, but Winter is just cold. Although I am anxious for this hot-muggy-rainy weather to disappear. Give me some proper rain, not this half-assed business.

See you next time, with photos.

Autumn - Inspirational Words

“Some people have commented that they don't relate to the runways shots that I have posted on the blog during fashion week. They say they can't afford the clothes or the looks don't relate to their everyday lives.
I understand these comments but I challenge you to try and look at these runway shots in a new way.
Fendi, for example, was really about fantastic color combinations. Even if you didn't like the clothes you can focus on the color schemes. These suggestions of color can be used whether shopping Fendi, or Zara, or vintage.
Maybe another collection - like Yohji - would be all about proportion and texture. Wearing all black is difficult but new ideas in mixing shape and fabric textures can be invaluable in keeping a monotone wardrobe fresh.
Dries and Gaultier's strength's have always been their great ability to mix genres and cultural symbols. I love the idea of Tibetan Fireman.
All I'm saying is don't let the lack of funds keep you from having fun with fashion.”
                                                                                                                           -- The Sartorialist.

When was I saying this? Last post was when. Gosh darn it (I'm such a Catholic, it kills me a little inside)
Love you me time girls,

Autumn - It has Begun + Catwalk Madness

I hate it when people keep harping on about the next season. So much. And thus, I'm doing some hating on myself.
Last night I wore 3 layers and jeans. Yeah. And it was exciting.

Yet today, I'm wearing a dress. Maybe Autumn is my new favourite season. Well, it will be until Summer gets it's arse into gear.

This morning has been spent having a big bath, pancakes and coffee (yes, I eat in the bath - it's the greatest) and doing some pre-picnic Garance Dore stalking.
Here are some of the pictures I've spent like, a n hour print screening for your cat walk pleasure.

All patterned, flowing black and white at Dolce & Gabbana - in a way even I can appreciate.

Furs furs and flowy at Gucci

And possibly the new in thing to do with your heels? First at Prada and then Dries Van Noten. I'm still totally undecided on this one.... When I saw them at first, I despised them, but then I remembered that everything at shows are over the top, and saw Tish wearing black socks under her clogs, which really looked kinda great.

Tonight I'm off to the Xavier and Gennazano production of Annie, prepared to be impressed.
Have a good weekend my lovely things,
Love Bella xxxx

Summer - Autumn Glee

Welcome kiddlings!
And welcome the orang-est season of the year. Let's celebrate with piles of warm, bright summer colours to fight the cold!!

I realise that I'm a little tardy tonight, but I suggest two things to browse at some time soon - The Sartorialist,  and Garance Dore - who've been hitting up all the pre-season shows, The David Jones Autumn/Winter Collection - always a little posh but definitely worth a look-sy and Teen Vogue's latest whirl of suggestions - and if anyone can find the trend suggestions about "old world lace" that I was lusting over a couple of nights ago, they win a prize.

I'm leaving most of the colour changing to Tish, as it is a forte of hers. Oh! and you will have noticed that I'm not posting on my usual Wednesday, Tish and I have swapped days. Eventually we'll get our heads on straight about this schedule.

Until then,
Love Bella xxxx
